La Casa de Estudillo Restoration funded by BOOT

La Casa de Estudillo will be closed beginning February 17th for restoration of the interior adobe walls. This project is solely funded by the Boosters of Old Town State Park. BOOT applied for and received the 2021 NSDAR Historic Preservation Grant of $6,000 - the only such grant awarded in California. BOOT put in $30,000; 8 interior rooms were restored. There is funding in the 2022 BOOT budget ($22,000) to complete the other 3 rooms. The 2022 work will begin in March; in fact the adobe is currently closed to prepare the rooms for the work.

While work is being completed, you can explore La Casa de Estudillo virtually by using the QR code below or visiting https://www.oldtownsdshpvirtualtour.com/#Estudillo_15.

I also support the Gift Shop. I am looking forward to the Fall update of the gift shop inventory. On August 24, 2023, I noticed that there were anachronistic, heart-shaped magnets with rainbow stripes, and multi-colored paw prints, but "Pride Month" was celebrated in June or July 2023. I hope to see members at Fiestas Patrias or the Día de los Muertos events at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. DHG
