Threads of the Past living history activity center has new lighting. Those of us who volunteer at Threads as we participate in quilting, spinning, and weaving living history activities struggled with seeing exactly what we were demonstrating because of poor quality lighting inside the building. This was particularly acute on overcast mornings and late afternoons.
During their July meeting, the Boosters of Old Town board of directors voted to approve
spending $4,315 for the best solution to the poor lighting in Threads. This option added lighting under the shelves to reflect up toward the ceiling; fixed a faulty electrical switch; added overhead lights and a switch; and replaced six lighting fixtures. The modifications did not impact the historical appearance of the interior, and kept within the park’s period of interpretation.
